In the last guide I showed you how to list your domains for sale on Sedo Marketplace. Now we’re going to verify that the domains actually belong to you. It’s a very simple process, so let’s get to it.
You can use either the CNAME record or the TXT record in your domain registrar DNS setting(Sedo recommends sing TXT method). You’ll need your Domain Ownership Verification ID. You will copy and paste this ID into the TXT record. To find this ID, go to the Sedo website and press ‘My Sedo’ in the top-right corner and choose ‘My domains’ from the drop down menu, as shown in the screenshot below.
On the next screen select the ‘Domain Ownership Verification’ tab, as show in the screenshot below.
After pressing that tab you’ll be redirected to the verification page where you’ll see the verification number, as show in the screenshot below.
Copy that verification number, then go to your domain restistrar and find the DNS settings for the domain that you are verifying. The DNS settings will be in slightly different locations depending on your registrar.
Once you’ve navigated to your DNS edit settings you’ll need to change the TXT record. Add the ‘@’ symbol to the Name field in the TXT section, then paste the verification ID into the Data field. If your host requires a TTL field, add 3600 into that field. Save the TXT record.
Excellent! You’ve now verified your ownership ID. Once Sedo checks the verification your domain sale will become live on the Sedo platform. If you have multiple domains listed for sale, you’ll need to repeat this process for each domain. Good luck selling your domains!
